Nonclassical microwave–optical photon pair generation with a chip-scale transducer
Nature Physics (2024)
Scientists have taken a step toward building a quantum network.
In this paper, the team showed they can create nonclassical correlations between pairs of photons in an optical link and a superconducting quantum circuit. They generated the photon pairs using a process called spontaneous parametric down-conversion using a chip-scale “quantum transducer” device.
This work represents a first step in using optical links to distribute entanglement between remote superconducting quantum processors.
